TAMS GRANTS (TAMS III)

When we consider the farming community on a whole, we know energy demands are extremely high and heavily reliant on carbon emitting fossil fuels.

Targeted Agriculture Modernisation Schemes (TAMS 3) provide grants to farmers to build and/or improve a specified range of farm buildings and equipment on their holding.

On the 22nd of February 2023 the Minister for agriculture announced that money has been allocated to assist the farming community in their commitment to reducing carbon emissions through investment in, amongst others, solar systems for farm use.

The Department of Agriculture, Food & Marine, published details of the €370 million scheme which will operate over a 5-year time-frame.

The Solar Capital Investment Scheme will motivate & encourage solar investments an as a result reduce dependence on fossil fuel energy.

The scheme will be ring fenced with its own investment ceiling of €90,000 and will be grant aided at the enhanced rate of 60%.
