When emergency services arrive at homes or businesses, they will first cut off grid electricity to ensure they can proceed safely.

Power Outages:

During a power outage, such as from storm damage, utility teams (like the ESB) might be working on downed power lines.

In all these cases, the safety switch detects the absence of grid power. An internal solenoid automatically activates, breaking the circuit to the inverter. Consequently, no electricity flows to the property from either the grid or the solar panels.
